Among the many titles Carrie Underwood currently holds — singer, actor, philanthropist and mother — we learned earlier this week she is also an unabashed supporter of her husband, hockey player Mike Fisher. That support came out in full force when an alleged bad call by a referee resulted in a loss for Fisher’s team, the Nashville Predators. That bad call seemed to set Underwood off, resulting in her doing something we’re not really used to seeing from the normally mild-mannered singer: calling out the NHL hard on Twitter.

Following the Tuesday night matchup between the Predators and the Florida Panthers, Underwood hopped on Twitter to make her feelings known. It seems Predators player Filip Forsberg scored what would have been the tying goal until officials threw it out, citing goaltender interference. Forsberg had scored the goal with only 0.6 seconds left in the game, so when it was thrown out, the game ended 2 – 1, with the Panthers winning. Underwood was not stoked about her husband’s team’s loss.

“Goaltender interference? Are you out of your mind? On what planet? #WorstCallEver @PredsNHL #NSHvsFLA,” she wrote on Twitter. “Biggest pile of [poop emoji] ever! Preds were straight up robbed. I am seriously livid. @NHL, fix this.”

The loss stung particularly badly because it meant the Predators won’t win their division or conference. Fisher offered his support for his wife’s sentiments, though in a slightly less serious way.

“If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s you’re always right,” he wrote, along with a cry-laughing emoji.
This definitely isn’t the first time Underwood has supported Fisher and his career. He actually briefly retired from playing hockey in August of 2017, but when he announced his return to the sport in February of 2017, Underwood was his biggest cheerleader.

Underwood has been ramping up her social media use after taking a big step back from it after a fall in November of 2014 required her to get 40 facial stitches. But she’s been easing back in (including her first post-fall selfie, which was to support a great cause), amid reports she’s getting back into the recording studio (could we be getting new music in 2018? *Fingers crossed!*)
Until then, here’s hoping the Predators’ luck turns around soon and Underwood continues to call injustices out on social media. We’re here for it!
