Prince William, 28, and Middleton, 29, were in Anglesey at the Trearddur Bay Lifeboat Station to name the “Hereford Endeavour” lifeboat. The lifeboat ceremony, provided by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, was created to give Middleton first official royal duty.
Middleton mingled with the 500 onlookers and even sang along with the Welsh national anthem “Hen Wlad fy NhaDau (Land of my Fathers).” Locals were decidedly pleased with her.
“It’s fantastic – well done to her. It shows that she’s thinking about where she is. This is a very Welsh-speaking part of Wales so it’s a nice gesture,” one local told People of Middleton’s anthem singing.
Prince William was also happy to see his bride-to-be fitting in with the locals so well – he told the crowd that he gets to do the talking while she has the fun.
“It gives me huge pleasure to be introducing to this relationship, here and now, someone who is not only about to join the Family, but is also about to become an ‘Anglesonian,'” he said.
The couple lives in Anglesey where Prince William is a search-and-rescue helicopter pilot for the Royal Air Force Base.
We’re so happy to see Middleton so at-ease with her new public lifestyle – and we can’t wait for the wedding!
