You Can Now Order Starbucks’ ‘Secret’ Pink Drink Off the Regular Menu

While Starbucks is known (and loved) for its long and varied drinks menu, at times it seems like the most popular — or at least the most talked-about — ones are those on the so-called secret menu. (Though there’s also been talk lately that such a menu isn’t even a real thing — just something “random-ass people made up online.”)

Whether it was made up by Starbucks or wannabe internet baristas, the pink drink is one of the more popular secret Starbucks drinks — a complicated selection of ingredients that is sure to make your local barista absolutely hate you. The dairy-free iced drink combines the on-menu Strawberry Acai Refresher with freeze-dried strawberries and coconut milk instead of water. Er… yum?

“We’re thrilled that the beloved Pink Drink is joining the Starbucks menu, just in time for the warmer Spring months,” said Vivienne Long, Starbucks vice president of U.S. retail beverages. “This delicious and refreshing drink is a celebration of our customers’ and baristas’ creativity and is just one of the 170,000 ways we craft beverages to meet each person’s unique taste preferences.”

So, it’s pretty, and it’s a lot easier to order now that it’s on the menu. But do you actually want to try it? Full disclosure from someone has actually tried the famous pink drink: It’s heavy and over-the-top, but is actually pretty healthy. That said, it’s a unique taste that may not be appreciated by everyone (including me), so if you take a risk and buy it, know that there’s a chance it may make a prettier Instagram subject than something you actually want to slurp down on a hot afternoon. Still, that’s probably why some people purchase it in the first place, so whatever.
